Well, my fellow pyromaniacs , finally we have a book that we can relate to! Check out this link about the author.

Fahrenheit 451 is a novel that takes place in the future, in what is supposed to be a "utopian" society, a world where technology has made life easy and every conveinience has been taken care of. After completing the first reading assignment, respond to the following questions. * YES- in stand-alone format!

1. Describe what you know about this futuristic society so far. (Technological Advances, Freedoms....etc.)

2. Describe these characters, in detail , Guy Monta, Mildred Montag, Clarisse McClellan.

3. Consider the scene on page 12, where Montag's wife is resting on her bed. (open up your book and read the second paragraph) Considering this book is copyrighted 1950, is there anything strangely familiar about this scene?  Click here for a HINT

4. Why do you think that Montag is supposed to BURN books and not read them?
